NXT Elimination Predictions: Double Elimination Tonight!

Have you ever had to make an important decision, but your heart and your head have different ideas?  In most of those cases, everyone would give you the advice to follow your heart, and almost all of those times, doing so would be the right choice.  This is wrestling though, so the thoguht process has to be quite different.

What I am referring to is tonight's NXT eliminations.  I know this cannot be confused for an important life decision, but it is one the fans and WWE must make within the next couple of hours.  So who will go?  Read below, since I haven't been wrong yet with my predictions on the subject.

Like I said, this is a battle between my head and my heart.  My heart says that Percy Watson and Michael McGillicutty should go.  Both are fine workers in the ring, but being a superstar requires either extraordinary skills in the ring or a character and personality that can carry them, or both.  Percy Watson has personality, but not one that will take him any further than where Zack Ryder is at right now.  The show is for the "next breakout star", not the next comedy jobber, so his time should come sooner than later.  McGillicutty has the name and the wrestling pedigree, but has been quite bland as a character.  If it were up to me, those two would be gone, leaving a final 3 of Husky Harris, Kaval, and Alex Riley.

Of course, the show isn't run just to appease me, so it's doubtful that my heart's desires will come true.  Thus, I have to think with my head as to how the WWE and the average viewer will think.  In that sense, WWE knows that they have something in McGillicutty, even if he hasn't shown it yet.  That's why he has a great record on NXT.  He will survive this week, probably still falling in second place.  I still believe Percy Watson will be gone though.  He has improved, but I still can't take him seriously with the classes and the gum-tastic smile.  He'd be fine in a tag team as the comedy side, but next breakout star?  I don't think so.

As for the other elimination, you would think Riley is on his way out, since he finished just above Lucky Cannon last week.  You'd be wrong.  I believe having Riley do poorly is a ploy to have him get even cockier by "overcoming the odds" to stay alive and potentially win.  "But Mouth, I thought the fans have say this time?"  Yes they do, but it is never revealed how the fan voting went, so do you really think it's the deciding factor?  Come on now.  The WWE takes the votes, sees who the fans like, compares it to who they like, and make it work the way they want.  They have an idea of who they want to win and they will make it so.  Don't be fooled into thinking that the fans are making all the choices.  Thus, Riley will survive, but Husky will meet his demise.  As much as the WWE is high on his work, he's the Tarver of this season.  He hates being there, and is a fantastic heel as a result.  He has a lot of potential, but of the 2 heels left, Riley just looks like the bigger star.  Thus, Husky will bid farewell to the WWE universe for now, and hello to the buffet line once again.  Tune in at 10 to see if my predictions come true yet again.  Percy and Husky, your hourglasses are running low...............
